Kyle Busch’s perfect weekend at Martinsville Speedway received a minor blemish via the postrace penalty report released Wednesday by NASCAR
The defending Sprint Cup champion’s No. 18 Toyota team received a written warning for failing the Laser Inspection System twice during prerace inspection Sunday.
Busch became the first driver to sweep the Cup and Camping World Truck Series events at Martinsville last weekend, ending a careerlong winless drought on the 0.526-mile oval. It took 22 starts for Busch to notch his first win in NASCAR’s premier series at the short track.
In the Camping World Truck Series, the No. 22 Toyota driven by Austin Wayne Self was given a warning for truck trailing arms that didn’t meet specifications in opening day inspection. It was the second warning for Self’s team.
Busch’s team has one warning this season. A fourth warning results in loss of pit stall selection.
Busch led 352 of 500 laps at Martinsville, the most by a race winner in 18 years there.
