Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to appear tonight on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will take on the challenging obstacle course tonight on NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior.”
Stenhouse was the lone NASCAR driver. He competed against IndyCar drivers Helio Castroneves, Tony Kanaan and Josef Newgarden. The show was taped in late April in Indianapolis.
“I had a great time during American Ninja Warrior,” Stenhouse said in a statement. “I have been a big fan of the show and always wanted to try some of the obstacles. All the participants were so helpful. They would tell you what they struggled with and how to attack a certain obstacle. I’m definitely going to train harder next year and do it again.”
Tonight’s show airs at 8 p.m. ET.

UPDATE: ThorSport Racing haulers and some Trucks survive fire

A ThorSport Racing spokesperson confirmed to NBC Sports that the team’s four haulers, along with some tool and pit boxes, were removed from the shop before a pre-dawn fire spread.
Some of the team’s trucks also survived, but a team spokesperson was unsure of the exact number.

The fire at the team’s Sandusky, Ohio, race shop was reported at 12:12 a.m. ET. Fire crews from Perkins Township responded along with a unit from Sandusky, Ohio.
The team stated that no one was injured. The team also reported that the fire started in the basement of the 100,000-square foot shop.

Results of Saturday’s Menards 250 Xfinity Series race at Michigan

After 47 previous starts, Daniel Suarez finally broke through for his first career NASCAR Sprint Cup victory in Saturday’s Menards 250 at Michigan International Speedway.
Suarez passed teammate Kyle Busch with two laps to go and held on for the final lap to reach victory lane for Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports.
Here’s the results for the Menards 250:

NASCAR Xfinity Series point standings after Menards 250 at Michigan

While his win in Saturday’s Menards 250 was certainly emotional, with it being his first career triumph in the Xfinity Series, it also helped slightly increase Daniel Suarez‘s lead in the Xfinity Series point standings, as well.
Suarez now has an 18-point lead over second-ranked Elliott Sadler, a 36-point edge over third-ranked Ty Dillon, a 55-point lead over fourth-ranked Erik Jones and a 64-point difference over fifth-ranked Justin Allgaier.

How hot was it at Michigan on Saturday? Ty Dillon will tell you

With atmospheric temperatures hovering around 90 degrees and on-track temperatures even higher, it was obviously pretty hot during Saturday’s Menards 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Michigan International Speedway.
It was even hotter for driver Ty Dillon, who spent most of Saturday’s race without air conditioning. As a result, Dillon went to the MIS infield medical center after the race for a fill-up of IV fluid to replenish some of what he lost in the race.
One good thing: Temperatures are expected to be about 15 degrees lower in Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400
Check out Dillon’s post on Instagram, with a couple of followup posts on Twitter:
